About PAC Positive Action on Cancer

Spin Events are pleased to announce that, for a second year, its charity partner for the 2014 Lionheart is local charity PAC – Positive Action on Cancer.

Positive Action on Cancer is thrilled to be chosen once again as official charity partner and part of the “pride” for the 2014 Lionheart Cyclosportive. Last year participants pedalled their way to raising over £1500 to support our counselling services for patients and families affected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses. We hope that once again riders tackling and taming the hills and landscape around Longleat (including the infamous lions!) will put their best foot forward to help PAC continue its vital work.

Starting its life as a telephone helpline in 1994, PAC has grown from strength to strength and now offers counselling for adults and children across Somerset, Wiltshire and Bath and North East Somerset.

2014 is our 20th birthday year and we would love you to support us so we can roar in celebration of what has been achieved in that time!

PAC receives no NHS funding and relies on voluntary donations from individuals, local businesses and grant-making trusts to fund their vital services. “Lifeline’ is the word that people most often use to describe PAC’s service and 250 people contact them for help each year. Any contributions whether large or small are of great value to them.

If you are considering raising money whilst enjoying the 2014 Lionheart and would like to support PAC, simply create your own Just Giving page by clicking on this link: http://www.justgiving.com/positiveactiononcancer/Raisemoney.

For more information and support please contact Michael on 01373 455255 or email fundraising@positiveactiononcancer.co.uk. For information about the charity please visit their website on www.positiveactiononcancer.co.uk.
“PAC is a charity close to our hearts and the services that they offer are vital. We are looking forward to supporting PAC’s continuing great work by donating a percentage of the profits from the 2014 Lionheart event.”
